paper positions berlin invites international galleries to apply with their most important positions in contemporary and modern art, with a particular focus on works on and with paper.
From 30 April - 3 May 2026, the tenth edition of paper positions berlin will take place once again in the impressive main hall of the iconic Berlin-Tempelhof Airport, spanning over 2,500 square metres — held in parallel with the Gallery Weekend in Berlin.
The move into the main hall of Tempelhof Airport marks a significant milestone in the development of paper positions berlin and reflects its growing relevance within the art fair landscape. 65 galleries from 18 countries attracted more than 16,000 visitors at the last edition. The new venue not only allows for a more intense engagement with the material of paper, but also highlights the fair’s distinctive concept: instead of traditional booths, paper positions berlin embraces the idea of a curated art salon. The spacious layout and open architecture of the main hall provide participating galleries with even greater freedom to present their paper-based positions in a multifaceted and compelling manner.
Within the German-speaking region, paper positions berlin is the only art fair where galleries showcase a wide spectrum of high-quality works from contemporary and modern art, as well as the 19th century — offering collectors and visitors a focused and in-depth insight into this unique artistic medium.
In 2026, paper positions berlin will once again be accompanied by a diverse and high-calibre programme featuring prestigious awards, special exhibitions and many other highlights.
With an expanded section of ceramic positions, we are placing a new artistic material at the center of attention – ceramics! The curated special exhibition presents selected artistic perspectives on this medium and creates a striking dialogue with the main section of the fair.
ceramic positions
With the curated special exhibition ceramic positions, we set another special accent. Ceramics as a material has not only undergone a new development among young artists for some time now - it is also arousing ever greater interest among collectors and institutions, as this medium is capable of constantly exploring the boundaries of art in new ways.

In a special exhibition, supported by the Kaiserwetter agency, we present new works by Zuza Dolega (winner of the paper positions award 2025).
